| BERLIN,
July 25, 2005 (Hina) - Bild, the German newspaper with the highest
circulation, published, on Sunday, an analysis on the safety
of tourist destinations, stating that Croatia belongs to the
group of safest countries on the Mediterranean.
Croatia, not mentioned directly in the analysis, is marked
green on the world map, which indicates that it is a safe
destination. Among other Mediterranean countries, France,
Greece and Slovenia belong to the green group. Bulgaria and
Russia, also popular tourist destinations for Germans, received
the ‘green light’ as well.
The map, according to the accompanying text, was compiled
based on information collected about the state of security
from the ministries of foreign affairs of Germany, Austria,
France, Great Britain and the United States.
Italy and
Spain were marked gray (due to the threat of terrorist attacks)
because of their participation in the war in Iraq. Yellow
was used to represent countries with no threats of terrorist
attacks, but with high criminal rates. According to the map,
these countries are Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Albania and the European part of Turkey. |
